Communications

The goal of the Greater Johnstown School District Communications Office is to keep district families and community members informed of all things Johnstown. From updates made on this website to the newsletters that appear at your door, our office is dedicated to making sure the lines of communication between the district, members of our district and community are strong.

Public Information Specialist Trisha Miller and Digital Content Specialist Matthew VanValkenburgh are members of the Capital Region BOCES Engagement & Development Service. They lend part-time support to our office.

ParentSquare is Johnstown’s family communication app, used to send and receive important information.

Sign up for ParentSquare using the email and phone number that you have on file with the district, and you will automatically be linked to your child.

Need help with ParentSquare?

If you are not receiving ParentSquare notifications, do not see your child(ren) in the app, or are having trouble with the website/app, please complete a ParentSquare and Parent Portal (School Tool) Access Request.

(Please note, filling out this form will enable access to student information for only the child(ren) of the parent or legal guardian.)

The SchoolTool parent portal provides secure access for parents, guardians and secondary students to view emergency contact information and attendance records. Parents of students in grade 3 through high school may access report cards. Parents and students in grades 7 through 12 may access progress reports and student schedules.

Parents use their personal email address and students use their school email address. After first logging into the portal with a temporary secure password, the password can be changed.

Parents who have not submitted an email address but would now like access to the Parent Portal may complete an Online Parent Portal Request form.

Need help with SchoolTool?

If you do not already have a Parent Portal account, or need a password reset, please complete a ParentSquare and Parent Portal (School Tool) Access Request. You will receive an email when your account is created or reset.
