In honor of last week’s “National School Breakfast Week” – and March being National Nutrition Month – we’d like to highlight our brand new Breakfast Buggy at Johnstown High School, which makes it easier than ever for students to grab a quick, nutritious FREE breakfast on their way to homeroom each morning.
The Breakfast Buggy is located in the main lobby of the high school, where all students enter. On their way to homeroom, students simply need to log in with their student ID to receive a FREE “grab and go” breakfast each morning.
Students may also have noticed a brand new vending machine in the small cafeteria at JHS. All they need to do is enter their student number and pin, and then make their selection if they missed breakfast or lunch.
“Proper nutrition is a critical component to the academic success of our students,” GJSD Food Services Director Erika Winney said. “We’ve been very proactive and creative in finding ways to make sure nutritious food is available to our students all day long, from the moment they enter the building. The goal is to feed as many students as possible, each and every day they are in school here at Johnstown,” she added.
