GJSD swim and walk programs return this winter

The District’s Community Walking and Swimming Programs will be starting back up after Thanksgiving Break. The programs are open to anyone in the Johnstown community who would like the opportunity to stay active during the winter season.

Johnstown Pool

Community Walk information:

Program Starts:  Monday, December 2

Program Ends:  Thursday, April 10

Place:  Warren St. Elementary School (110 Warren St, Johnstown, NY 12095)

Days:  Monday – Thursday

Time:  6:30 – 8:00 P.M.

– Please use main entrance upon arrival and sign in with a school attendant

– Program will not run when school is not in session or any day school is canceled due to inclement weather 

Community Swim Program:

Program Starts:  Saturday, December 7

Place: Johnstown High School (1 Sir Bill Circle, Johnstown, NY 12095)

Days:  Saturday

Time:  9:00 – 11:00 A.M.

– Use the back entrance of JHS by the pool/bus loop and sign in with a school attendant 

– The program will not run when school is not in session or if campus is closed due to inclement weather 

– Swim program will not operate on the following Saturdays:  12/28, 2/15, and 2/22

– Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Toddlers and younger must wear swimming diapers in the pool. You are allowed to bring in your own swimming aides (swimmies and other devices that are intended to help you stay afloat and swim). Pool floats are prohibited.
