Deadline to receive nominations is September 26.
We all know that the Greater Johnstown School District is a very special place. One of the strongest assets of this District is, without a doubt, our dedicated staff members.
The ABCD Award is given out by the Board of Education as a way to recognize staff members who go Above and Beyond the Call of Duty each and every day to give back to our school community and make sure our students feel safe, secure, and loved – and above all else, provide them with the very best educational opportunities and experiences.
The GJSD team is vast and includes members from our facilities, food services, and transportation departments, building and department secretaries, coaches, advisors, SEAL Team, teacher aides, teaching assistants, and of course, teachers. Each of these team members plays a different role in the lives of our students. Their cumulative contributions are what make Johnstown stand out from the rest.
Three times a year, the Board of Education elicits ABCD Award nominations from the community. Board members select three to four recipients to be publicly recognized at a Board of Education meeting.
Anyone from the community can nominate a staff member for an ABCD Award – students, families, staff/colleagues, community members, etc. Please know that staff members can only receive the ABCD Award once during their tenure at the district. Staff are not eligible to receive the award more than once.
