Home Instruction

Children of compulsory education age must receive full-time instruction taught by competent teachers that is substantially equivalent to that provided at their local public school. Parents are permitted to educate their children at home in accordance with Education Law and Commissioner’s Regulations Part 100.10. Specific provisions govern home instruction.

Home instruction of students residing within the boundaries of the Greater Johnstown School District is overseen by our Office of Pupil Services and Special Education. For more specific information, or to begin the process of homeschooling, please contact the Director of Curriculum & Instruction (518) 762-4611.
